The 2020s are the inflection point when exponential technologies get truly “smart,” when all of humanity becomes fully connected, and when ecological thresholds are surpassed.
Those of us who are aware of this can take small actions to disrupt the old ways that persist inequalities and ecological destruction. We can alter the constructs that rely on our consumer dollars, customer data, employee wellness, and citizen participation because those institutions are now using AI to inform their decisions.
We must change our behaviors to set off a network effect that teaches the AIs to persist a better way forward.
